Beta Development: A Look Back At Our First Month
July 21, 2015
A month ago last week, we launched beta in St. Louis with a crazy twelve hour party. We gave garden tours, Robin served awesome food, The Fog Lights played some beautiful music, and it rained…a lot. We took it all in stride though - kicked off our shoes and danced to the music in the mud. Most importantly, everyone had a great time and we officially launched the app we’ve been working on for months - sending out login codes the next day.

It has been a fun and very rewarding experience watching people sign in for the first time and start posting on the app. It has also been informative. Not only have we received some great feedback from our fantastic beta users, but just observing interactions within the app has informed our development path as much or more than we had hoped for. In short, we are very excited about where we are headed; this is truly just the beginning.
Below is a peek at the app for those of you not in St. Louis, or who haven’t signed up yet. This reflects our second iteration, and as our development speed increases, the app is going to start changing more rapidly. There are many features on our radar that we can’t wait to build and deploy!
As we head into our second month, we’re looking forward to using the app with more of you. There are still plenty of spots in our beta test group, so if you are in STL and want a login code, please sign up and we’ll send you a code within a day. We have identified a few key feature-development goals that, once completed, will allow us to publicly launch in St. Louis allowing for anyone to sign up. Obviously, we can’t wait for that and hope to make that happen by harvest time this year.
Good news for the rest of you: public launch in STL means expansion to other cities shortly after, so stay tuned!
As always, we want to hear from you. If you have any comments, concerns, or suggestions, please email us at anytime. It’s been an exciting, inspiring, and humbling month, and it’s only going to get better from here. We hope you’ll stick with us and invite your friends so we may all grow together!
