Sprout up St. Louis, We're Launching Soon
March 9, 2015
Throughout the past few months, we’ve been posting about our mission and the power of gardening within communities. If you haven’t been following, please read through our previous posts and let us know what you think, but now, it’s time to talk about apps! Sprouthood is a social-discovery app for gardeners to find each other, coordinate plantings, share harvests and grow more together (well, it will be very soon).
In about a month, we will open the app in the St. Louis area. We couldn’t be more excited to share what we’ve been developing with you and work together to make it even better before we open it up everywhere. St. Louis is our home. We love this city and can’t think of a better place to launch Sprouthood.
For those of you reading this elsewhere, don’t worry, Sprouthood will be coming to your city later this year!
So here’s our first teaser for you. Below is an example of one of our ideas for the garden discovery map feature within the app. This may eventually be where you go to find others nearby who garden or would like to trade for veggies you have offered. In this version, each pin represents the location of a user’s garden. Information about each can easily be displayed and sorted with different color pins indicating information specific to harvests, requests, or labor needs.
As we complete our first round of programming, we welcome any input - this is just one of the ideas that we have in mind. We would love to hear yours! If you have thoughts about this page, or others please tell us in the comments below or send us an email if you prefer. We’re looking forward to hearing how you imagine using this app.
